PRÍNCIPEThis is the tallest peak of the Island, and it proudly takes its name up to 948 meters high. It is usually above the clouds so you will need a clear day to see it, which is not easy. If you are feeling lucky go to the Sao Joaquim viewpoint, it’s the best place to spot the magnificent landscape of the southwest. | JOÃO DIAS PAI E JOÃO DIAS FILHOThe tallest – Joao Dias Pai – is 256 metres high, and the shortest is the Filho, its son. The Roça of Sao Joaquim is the best spot to see it. It is further north that all the other tall peaks of this side of the island, but completely inaccessible. | MORRO LESTEIt is locally known for resembling a human face on its side. It is the easternmost peak of the range that crosses the island in the east-west axis, and offers a very interesting climb with amazing sights for the eastern part of the island. |

PAPAGAIOIt is the best known peak on the Island. Many people even think it is the tallest, due to the inaccessibility of the Pico Principe. It is visited regularly both by the locals and by tourists. To the more adventurous this is a good trail to start with, it offers a challenging climb and the best view of the northern side of the Island. | DOIS IRMÃOSIn the southeast of the Island, these two peaks, with 348 and 341 metres, are affectionately called Dois Irmãos (two brothers) for their proximity and resemblance. They are inaccessible but a must-see from the Terreiro Velho viewpoint. | MESAIt is one of the most iconic of the Island. Its name comes from its table-shaped surface, raising almost straight from the ground and suddenly creating a plane surface that stretches for more than 400 metres in length. It’s 537 metres high and one of the best places to camp and enjoy the most authentic wilderness of the Island. |
