CONSERVATION STATUS: LC. The species adapted quite well to the arrival of Man. It is not threatened.

DISTRIBUTION/OBSERVATION SPOTS: It is distribuited throughout the Island up to the altitude of 150m. It is very common near the Roças and secondary forests, and also gardens with flowers.

FEEDING: Flour nectar, fruits and plants, small insects.

REPRODUCTION: The mating season is thought to happen mostly between September and March, but there is also evidence to suggest it mates all year round. Its nest is a suspended pocket built with plant fibers and spider webs.
